MIOSA vs Railway

Railway and MIOSA both run services from a repository. This page compares what each documents, so you can decide which fits the way you work.

MIOSA Railway Railway

Every competitor statement below is from Railway’s own public documentation (docs.railway.com, as of 2026-10-23). MIOSA statements link to the page that documents them. Where MIOSA has no equivalent, the row says so.

What MIOSA does not have

  • Cross-host private networking between services. Same-host private networking works today; anything wider is not generally available, and this page will not claim otherwise.
  • Railway’s full region list. MIOSA runs in us-east, us-west and us-mia.

When to choose each

  • Choose Railway if you want its wider region set or you are already settled there.
  • Choose MIOSA if you also want full Linux computers and sandboxes on the same platform, one set of credentials, and a white-label surface for your own customers.

Moving? Read the Railway migration guide, and miosa import railway writes a reviewable plan from a Railway project without copying secret values.
