Team chats and sharing

A new Optimal chat is personal. You can share it with everyone in its workspace, and turn it back into a personal chat at any time.

Share a chat

From a chat’s … menu in My chats:

  • Share with team opens the chat to everyone in its workspace.
  • Make personal makes it yours alone again.

The chat lists

The sidebar’s recent chats have tabs, and each opens a full list:

ListWhat it shows
My chatsYour chats with Optimal. A personal chat is yours; a shared one is open to everyone in its workspace.
Team chatsChats shared with everyone in the workspace. Anyone can read one and add a message; each message shows who wrote it.
Team membersMembers’ personal chats, by person. Shown to organization owners and admins only.

Rows are marked when a chat is shared, when it is working, when it “Needs you”, or when it is “Read only” for you.

Writing in a shared chat

In a team chat, each message shows who wrote it. A member who is not the chat’s creator sends words only. The chat’s machine, brain, and files stay as its creator set them.

A workspace viewer can read team chats but not post in them.

Owners and admins

Organization owners and admins can open Team members to read members’ personal chats, and Join one to carry on in the same chat. Reading and joining are both recorded, and the chat’s creator is told when someone joins.

Each person can see who has opened their chats under “Who has opened my chats”. Owners and admins see their own record under “Recorded views of members’ chats”.
