Optimal
Optimal is MIOSA’s agent workspace. You describe what you want in a chat, and Optimal plans and builds it on a machine you choose.
Brains: who does the work
Before the first message you pick the brain that powers the chat.
| Brain | Who pays | What runs |
|---|---|---|
| Optimal | Wallet credits | MIOSA runs the model on its private cloud |
| A harness | Your own account | Claude Code, Codex, OSA, and more run on the machine |
| A saved agent | Your own account | Your agent runs with its own instructions, tools, and permissions |
Optimal runs the model on MIOSA’s private cloud. You pay provider cost plus 15%, in wallet credits, where 1 credit is 1 cent.
A harness runs on the machine on your own account. MIOSA credits never pay for the model. See Harnesses and auth to connect one.
A saved agent runs with its own instructions, tools, and permissions.
The brain is locked after the first message. To change it, start a new chat.
Ask, Build, Investigate
Every chat is in one of three modes.
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Ask | Answers questions and explains things, without touching a machine |
| Build | Writes and runs code on a machine, and serves a preview |
| Investigate | Researches and analyzes, and collects what it finds |
Build is where the work happens. Inside Build there is a “Plan first” step, so you can review the plan before it runs.
The cost strip
The cost strip sits above the composer and shows what a chat costs as it runs:
- credits this chat and this turn;
- the machine rate;
- your wallet balance.
For a harness brain, the strip says the work is billed to your own plan, not to MIOSA credits.
